Before you can enjoy the many amenities your RV offers, you need to level your RV. An unleveled RV can create stress points on the structure, make the interior appliances not function properly, and affect sensors in the gas or water tanks. Ultimately, an unleveled RV can affect your overall comfort because it can leave you feeling off-balance.

These problems make it vital to have a balanced RV, and an Equalizer Leveling System can help. Let’s dive into everything you need to know about the Equalizer Leveling System.

What Is the Equalizer Leveling System?

Equalizer Systems, a subsidiary of Days Corporation, has become one of the leading manufacturing companies of “hydraulic and electric lifting, leveling and slide room solutions.” Specifically, the Equalizer Leveling Systems, an automated lifting and leveling system, works specifically for RVs.

How Does the Equalizer Leveling System Work?

The Equalizer Leveling System automatically operates a series of jacks at each corner to level your RV. You can control it on a panel usually located near the door. The controls lower and retract the jacks simultaneously until the unit is completely leveled.

What Types of RVs Can You Use This System On?

Currently, Equalizer Systems makes leveling systems for motorhomes, fifth wheels, and travel trailers. Each network of jacks has various lifting capacities and stroke lengths, meticulously tailored to the weight and size of the RV. Additionally, Equalizer System’s customer service is just a phone call away, ready to help you find the right system or troubleshoot your existing one.

If your RV doesn’t have an automatic leveling system from the factory, an Equalizer Leveling System can be installed aftermarket. If you’re not confident enough in your handy skills to do it yourself, you can have your system installed at the Equalizer Systems factory.

How to Set Zero Point on an Equalizer Leveling System

The zero point, or null point, is where the RV is level. To set the zero point, you must start by manually leveling the RV unit.

To manually level your RV, individually set each jack until you balance the whole unit. Once you find the balance point, hold down the auto-level button and press the power with the control panel off. The control panel will begin to beep. Let it beep for four or five seconds. Then you will hear a secondary, deeper toned beep to indicate that you’ve successfully set the zero point.

The program doesn’t have a ground sensor, so you have to set the zero point first to “teach” the Equalizer Leveling System where it needs to be. The system quickly remembers the zero point and returns to those settings when activated.

Even though it’s fully automated, you can still manually level your RV at any time. If it has a problem or malfunctions, you can still operate the system using the controls.

How to Level Your RV Using the Equalizer System

The system is straightforward to use. You will find all the controls near the door of your RV. To start, you must first power it on then press auto-level. It will automatically release the jacks and level your rig without any delay. Then, when ready to leave, press all-retract to make the jacks return to their secured position under the RV.

You can use SnapPads with your automated system instead of bringing blocks. They are made from recycled rubber and snap directly onto your rig's leveling jacks. Equalizer Leveling System compatible SnapPads include the EQ Round, EQ Octagon, EQ Plus, and EQ Grand. You can purchase them at your local RV dealer or online through a second-party retailer.

Although the process is easy, there are still some tips for your Equalizer Leveling System, which will help ensure the process runs smoothly. First, don't move around the RV while the auto-leveling occurs. Excessive movement can confuse the system and, as a result, create an unleveled RV. Remember to have enough battery and grounding in using the automated system to ensure it works properly and efficiently.

Is the Equalizer Leveling System Worth It?

You can maintain the integrity and comfort of your RV by leveling it. Although all factory-grade RVs come with a manual leveling system, installing an automatic leveling system makes it quick and easy and can be an added luxury. The Equalizer Leveling System may be the right upgrade for you, and the customer service is always excellent when troubleshooting.
